Installment number two is going to cover the second of the three things your auto insurance provides. That is coverage for you and your family and is called Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Coverage.
Most states require drivers secure insurance, but not everyone obeys the law. It is estimated that 20-30% of drivers are uninsured. On top of that, estimates show that 50-60% of drivers are at stateminimum coverage, and considered underinsured. If a driver with minimum or no insurance coverage runs into you, you could be left paying more out of your own pocket for injuries. Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist Coverage pays YOU and YOUR FAMILY if the OTHER person is at fault and they have no insurance, or they don't have enough insurance.
